Put This in Your Home and Say Goodbye to Flies, Mosquitoes, and Cockroaches

We’ve all had the moment — a fly hovering over the fruit bowl, a cockroach darting across the floor, or a mosquito buzzing in your ear at night. Suddenly, your peaceful home feels like a battleground. While many reach for chemical sprays or expensive pest control, there’s a far simpler, natural solution you might already have in your home.

This quick DIY pest repellent uses everyday ingredients to drive away flies, mosquitoes, and cockroaches without harsh chemicals. It’s safe for kids, pets, and anyone wanting a chemical-free option, plus it leaves your home smelling fresh.

The secret lies in strong scents and natural reactions. Peppermint and toothpaste give off an intense aroma that insects dislike. Baking soda and vinegar create a harmless fizz that disrupts pests’ comfort zones. Together, they form a triple-action deterrent: flies avoid the sharp scent, mosquitoes steer clear of the overpowering aroma, and cockroaches lose their scent trails.

You’ll need: 1 tablespoon mint toothpaste, 1 tablespoon baking soda, 1 tablespoon white vinegar, 120 ml warm water, and 5–10 drops peppermint essential oil (optional). Have small shallow containers ready, like jar lids or saucers.

In a bowl, mix toothpaste and baking soda into a smooth paste. Slowly add vinegar — let it foam. Stir in warm water, then peppermint oil. Pour into containers and place near trash bins, under sinks, behind appliances, or by windows.

Within an hour, the minty aroma creates an invisible barrier. Flies stop circling, mosquitoes vanish, and cockroaches retreat. It’s a quick, satisfying change.

For best results, refresh every 2–3 days. You can also use a cotton swab to apply the mixture along baseboards, behind the fridge, or inside cabinets. Place near entry points in summer for added protection.

This method offers peace of mind — no toxic fumes, no costly sprays, just a natural, effective, and affordable way to keep your home pest-free.
